Using Portable Dog Kennels
Portable dog kennels are dog containers that are easy to transport and clean. These are usually made of plastic and abide with most modes of transportations measurement requirements regarding pet containers. Most portable dog kennels have a standard look with vents and soft rounded corners as well as a metal gate. There are some others that are designed differently but these are usually the ones for smaller dogs. Other designs may also be for dog crates or dog boxes.

Smaller dog kennels can also sit comfortably in the backseat of any car with the seatbelt around it to prevent movement. Bigger portable dog kennels may have some difficulty fitting in the backseat of a medium sized car. Airline travels safety regulations state that portable dog kennels need to correspond with the size of the dog or bigger. Trains and boats may also have some regulations regarding the transportation of animals using kennels or carriers.
These forms of transportation for your dog are beneficial for both of you because there are enough vents on the kennel to ensure fresh air and the metal gate also offers a view of the dog without the need for strangers to get too close. You may need to post a sign that says “Do not touch live animal!” while the portable dog kennel is being transported to lessen your liability.
Portable dog kennels cannot keep out the heat so you need to regularly check on your dog especially if the kennel is placed at the back of an open truck bed. Providing fresh water and some food for your dog is necessary especially for long trips. In spite the protection of portable dog kennels, checking on your dog once in a while is necessary to see if he has been poked too much or harmed by random passerby.
