I am so excited that i am getting a baby yorkie tomorrow me and my family still cant decide what to name it here are the two suggestions Astro or Flash. I have always wanted one and i never thought my mom would get one. She always used to say it was a big responsibility to have one but since she saw my cousins now she wants one.yeeeees

Just got an 8 week old male yorkie last Sat. My 2 year old Yorkie/pom (also male) went into an immediate pout and will not remain in the same room with the puppy. If they do happen to be in the same room the older one growls at the little one. I’m really afraid to leave them alone and wondering if there’s anything I can do to make this situation better and fast! We have a very large lab that the yorkie/pom loves and plays with all the time so he is use to sharing, but definitely not with the little Colonel!

Shannon, that is sooo cute that you are getting a yorkie for christmas this year, and such a relief that you and your family have a ton of experience. People today get dogs without stopping to think if they are even ready for such a big commitment. People don’t realize that Yorkies can live for up to 13+ years; they only think about right now, today, not the future, not where they are going to be, or where they are going to be living, or anything like that. And as for name suggestions, I really like the name Riley. Its really cute, but not too sissy:)
Its kinda hard for me to give you name suggestions when I haven’t meet nor seen the dog like you have. My favorite names for a boy would have to be: Tiki, Rodeo, Dixon, and of course, Riley! My favorite names for a girl would have to be: Trixi, Carmen, and Callie! I wish you luck with your future Yorkie, and for it to bring you only love and happiness <3

I am getting a Yorkie for Christmas this year, and I am so excited about it because I have wanted one for months now, and my parents are actually buying me one!!! I know that I takes A LOT of your time and patience raising a dog, especially a yorkie, but both me and my parents have had years of experience training, showing, and raising all types of dogs, so no worries there:) We have been looking around for about a month now, and I think that we have found the perfect little boy! I have been thinking about names recently, and I have been debating against two; Riley and Nemo. If you have any name ideas, that would be helpful; maybe one will stand out
ps- try not to give any names like Bently or Dolce, Im not planning on spoiling him, and I don’t really want a name that would suggest that I am. Thank you!

I just my yorkie last night. His name is Appollo. He is so funny and full of energy. I am excited about having him. I have been wanting a yorkie for months and I have him now. I will get him a playmate in the near future after I have had him for a while. He is only 7 weeks and he loves being held and he loves to jump at my feet.
