Dog Training Obedience Exercises
Many dog owners wish their dogs to be trained in obedience. This is essential when it comes to taking walks and having visitors at the house. Obedient dogs immediately respond to their owners commands. Dog training obedience school is a great place where the master and the dog can bond and get to know what one expects from the other.
The need for dog training and obedience is real. Dogs that are untrained tend to be destructive and noisy when they want attention. It is better to train the dogs early than to leave them unattended and train them when they are older. Although, old dogs can be taught new tricks, sometimes their attitude may need some adjustment which can no be easily changed.
Tricks For Dog Training Obedience Practice
There are a few basic tricks that are included in dog training obedience exercises. These are to sit, to heel and to stay. These are basics that are usually taught in all dog training obedience schools. These commands are relatively easy to teach puppies. You must not expect the puppy to immediately learn the trick you want it to learn. It takes around a couple of weeks before it might even learn to recognize the trick or the command. This means that it could recognize the command but does not necessarily mean that it will obey it.
Some dog trainers use treats to reward their puppies when they do good job. Others use only praises and pats to show their appreciation of their dog’s willingness to learn the dog training obedience exercises. Both of these methods of rewarding puppies and dogs for good behavior are okay. It is however not okay to use force or choke collars when training puppies or even older dogs. These are inhumane and could lead to an accidental death.
Teaching dogs to sit is a matter of pushing his rump to the ground while he is standing and rewarding him if he stays in that position. It may take a few days for the dog to get the idea but he will eventually understand what you expect from him when you say “sit”. Heel is basically similar to sit except that you expect the dog not to move even when you move a little. Stay is similar to heel but it does not necessarily matter what position your dog is in as long as he does not step away from this position. Dog training obedience exercises are a good way for the owner and dog to bond with each other.
